Ford have revealed the new Ecosport!
Ahead of the Frankfurt Motor Show, Ford have thrown into the mix a refreshed EcoSport that is sure to get SUV lovers heads turning. For the first time ever, the EcoSport will be available as a sporty, Ford Performance-inspired EcoSport ST-Line model and will be launched in Europe later this year.Register your interest
The EcoSport boasts a more rugged look overall, more noticeable at the front of the vehicle where the split grille has been ditched for a look more in line with the rest of Ford’s line-up. A new large grille can be seen, as well as Mustang inspired headlights. Changes towards the back of the vehicle are subtle but add to the overall refreshed and rugged look. The rear bumper has been restyled along with the taillights, the ST-Line will be kitted out with aggressive looking bumpers, side skirts and 17-inch alloy wheels.
Ford are giving customers 12 bold colours to choose from and more personalised options. A contrasting painted roof that extend to the window pillars, upper door frames, rear roof spoiler and door mirrors being one of them.
Interior changes to the EcoSport are more noticeable, inspired by the latest Fiestas switchgear and fittings. The interior offers a better occupant experience with a central eight-inch touchscreen, heated steering wheel and smart stowage solutions including adjustable boot floor. The materials have stepped up in quality and new seats have been introduced.
SYNC 3 has been included, Ford’s latest connectivity and infotainment system which has proved to be popular. Basic model vehicles will have 4.2 inch colour screen with Bluetooth and USB availability. However, if you were hoping for a bigger touchscreen that boasts even more technology then the EcoSport is available with a 6.5 & 8 inch screens that include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Cruise control has also been introduced with speed limiter functions. The modifications don’t stop there, a rear-view camera is available as are automatic headlights and wipers. Blind spot detection, automatic climate control and power-folding mirrors have been added to the vehicle to enhance your driving experience.
Available from mid 2018 will be a 1.5 litre diesel engine, delivering 123bhp. A new 6 speed manual gearbox and all-wheel-drive has also been added to the line up, which is also available with the existing 1.5 litre diesel option. Alongside the two diesel options, Ford have made their turbocharged 1.0 litre three-cylinder EcoBoost petrol engine available with 99bhp, 123bhp or 138bhp. The 99bhp engine will be introduced alongside the 123bhp diesel next year.
