Busseys are now a Ford Terrier authorised supplier. The Ford Terrier Campervan is made by Wellhouse Leisure, who are recognised by Ford motor company as a professional camper converter. They convert on the passenger carrying short wheel base Ford Transit Custom Kombi. The The Wellhouse Terrier was named the Campervan of the Year 2014 by Motorcaravan Motorhome Monthly (MMM), the UK’s best-selling motorcaravan magazine, and Which Motorhome, the UK’s number one magazine for motorhome testing, at their prestigious 2014 awards.
Expert and experienced judges from MMM and Which Motorhome magazines looked at all the models new to the UK market or that have undergone significant design specification upgrades. To select a winner, the judges considered the functionality of the layout, the build quality and overall usability, as well as how the ‘van performs on the road and on the campsite, right through to whether it offers value for money.
The Wellhouse Terrier is a great example of a modern campervan and impressed the judges because it mixes tradition with cutting-edge modernity, as it applies the classic VW camper layout – furniture down one side with a rear bench – to the latest mid-sized Ford base vehicle. Wellhouse, however, starts its conversion with the high-spec Tourneo Trend people-carrier, rather than a Transit panel van. Equipment even extends to features such as cornering lights.
Slim furniture allows a three-seater rear bench that makes a good-sized double bed and it provides a feeling of space in the vehicle. The seat also slides forward, creating a variable-sized load space in the rear. On-road talents promise carlike comfort and great fuel economy. The judges liked the fit, finish, price and equipment of this newcomer. Head of the judging panel and editor of Which Motorhome, Peter Vaughan, commented: “Here at last is a vehicle that can take on the myriad campervans based on a VW T5 – and win! “
While Daniel Attwood, Managing Editor of Motorcaravan Motorhome Monthly, added: “This is quite simply a superb campervan. Wellhouse has proved that high-quality engineering and design flair are still going strong in England. If you’re in the market for a new campervan, make sure the Terrier is at the top of your list.”Book a test drive
